Ryan (and the El Salvadorian players) were excited about Ryan's trip to El Salvador and wants to thank the Chargers Clearwater families for donating gently used soccer gear for him to take to El Salvador. How awesome that a Chargers Alum is working with soccer communities around the world!! Thanks Ryan!! We are so proud of you!! GO CHARGERS!!
3/31/14 Congrats to former Chargers player and now coach, Ryan Seidl, on joining the men's soccer program at Penn State University as a student assistant coach starting this summer.
Additionally, Ryan traveled to Uganda in January to help run a soccer tournament with 24 teams participating from all over Uganda and a few thousand spectators throughout the week. Ryan was invited by Msgr. Michael Devine to travel to El Salvador for ten days in April to work with a group of experienced soccer coaches from England. AVOCA (A Voice of Central America) will consist of a weekend of coaching education for aspiring El Salvadorian coaches followed by a week of soccer camps for the youth in multiple communities of San Salvador. In an area that is notorious for criminal gangs, the project was conceived to give the capital's young people an alternative and positive focus and provides an opportunity to teach them life skills that will not only benefit them but also their communities.
In anticipation of the trip, Ryan is looking to bring over any old soccer equipment that may no longer be of use to you and your families. This includes:
All items must be turned in to the Chargers clubhouse at Eddie C. Moore or the Sportsplex by Tuesday, April 8th.
Thank you in advance for your support and generosity!
