The LWR Chargers SC Youth Academy Program is open to players 8U-9U and 10U and it is the final phase before players enter into our Competitive Program. Our Youth Academy Program focuses on the complete development of each individual player and it provides an educational environment for boys and girls to learn through training and playing.

The main emphasis is of enjoying the process of technical development and gradual tactical understanding. The main goal of our Youth Academy Program is to promote individual player development and overall team development in a child centered environment.

The objective is to develop each of the four components of a soccer player: Technical, Tactical, Psychological and Physical in a FUN and age appropriate manner.

  • Players train in pool training format (players are matched up developmentally in smaller groups)
  • Players train a minimum of 2 days per week
  • Technical skills repetitions with every player having their own ball to improve ball mastery.
  • Player-centered activities
  • Game-like activities in nature (i.e. problem-solving, decision making)

  • Emphasize player development and overall team development while focusing on the technical development of each individual player without the pressures of short-term wins/losses/results.
  • Develop ball skill and decision making in the game.
  • Create a fun and dynamic atmosphere for players.
  • Help educate parents on how to understand the sport and their role as a supporter of their child’s development.
  • Prepare younger players for the possible transition into competitive soccer.
  • Offer a program that will follow recommendations and guidelines that are for each player best interest.
