The Chargers Soccer Club is thrilled to announce that they will be joining the United Premier Soccer League beginning in the Spring of 2022.
The UPSL, founded in 2011, has over 300 teams nationally and is the fastest growing amateur Professional Development League in the United States. The UPSL was designed to provide players, coaches, and fans with a highly competitive year-round playing league platform with both fall and spring seasons as well as a promotion and relegation system for its member clubs.
The Chargers Soccer Club will begin participation in Florida’s Premier West Division next spring and will give players the opportunity to continue to represent the Chargers organization after their youth career. The team will hold tryouts and begin the evaluation process in January of 2022 with more information to be provided soon.
In the inaugural season, the Chargers’ UPSL team will be led by Coach Ryan Seidl and assisted by other current Chargers staff coaches. Coach Ryan has been a part of the Chargers organization for 20+ years as both a player and coach.
Head Coach Ryan Seidl: “This is such an exciting opportunity for our club and players to have a professional development pathway through the UPSL. The team will present a competitive environment and challenge for players of any age to be rewarded for their talents. The Chargers organization has given me so much over the years and I am honored to lead the Chargers' UPSL team in its first season alongside some other great coaches.”
Director of Coaching Peter Mannino: “The Chargers Soccer Club is excited to continue to grow through joining the UPSL for the spring season in 2022. This opportunity will provide current and former players with a platform to continue to develop and represent the Chargers club at a competitive level and is a fantastic step for the organization.”
